April 15-16, 2017 – Team Soul : Regionals Training Camp

Team Soul will be hosting a two day Regionals Training Camp at CrossFit Tigran on 4/15-16. The Camp is meant to help qualifying athletes prepare for the Regional standard, workout selection and format. We will review different pacing structures, testing, analysis, movement technique, strategy and more for previous Regional Workouts. Additionally, all participants will have opportunities to train and perform Regional style workouts with the coaching staff. The camp will be geared towards athletes who qualified for 2017 CrossFit Games Regionals or Masters Qualifier. However, the Training Camp is not limited to those. All athletes attending are expected to be able to perform all prescribed exercises at a Regional standard.

We will also discuss competition day nutrition, mindset, preparation and other things athletes can do to ensure their success at Regionals/Competition.

April 22-23, 2017 – USPA Coach Certification

This certification course is a two day course and it includes the teaching progressions of the Squat, Bench Press, Deadlift and all associated movements. Participants will gain knowledge and experience of training for both competitive lifters and for athletes using these movements for strength and power development. The course includes theoretical classroom, and practical hands-on portions. Course duration is over one weekend and lasts approximately 18 hours divided between lecture and practical training. This course is applicable for Competitive Powerlifting Coaches, Strength & Conditioning Coaches, Sports Performance Coaches, Certified Personal Trainers, and Health & Fitness Enthusiast.

Soul in house competition. Athletes will compete in the same division as they do in the CF Open.  All 5 open workouts must be completed to enter.  Standing for the Open will be included in the score for the Soul Games.

Courses are open to individuals and trainers at all stages of development. The Level 1 Certificate Course serves as the cornerstone for CrossFit methodology and movement, and the Level 2 Certificate Course is dedicated to improving a trainer’s ability to coach others. Online and Specialty courses provide avenues for continuing education and exploring specific topics in more detail.

Participants will gain knowledge and experience of programming of training for both competitive weightlifters and for athletes using the weightlifting movements for strength and power development as it applies their chosen sport. The course includes theoretical classroom, and practical hands-on portions. Course duration is over one weekend and lasts approximately 13-14 hours divided between lecture and practical training. This course is applicable for Strength & Conditioning /Sports Performance, Health & Fitness and beginning level competitive Weightlifting Coaches

A two day seminar course balancing physical and theoretical training. The aim is to learn and experience first-hand each key principle, practice and philosophy underpinning Julien’s unique and radical training methodology.
Covering everything you’ll need to know about analysing weaknesses, finding your key-log and training for both general health, through to elite performance; you’ll get up close and personal with Julien’s favourite training tools (yokes, sleds, ropes, prowlers and sandbags) and learn how best to use them in your own training and when coaching others.

Coaches Week is an intensive, interactive educational experience focused on assessments, theories, methods and exercises of the Movement Specialist Field. You will work directly with Julien Pineau for five days in an intimate setting to learn:

July 15 – 16, 2017 – CrossFit Gymnastics Specialty Course

This interactive two-day course covers basic, intermediate and advanced gymnastics movements in a lecture setting, with practical application following as participants and coaches perform all presented movements. Skills are repeated until the student has an understanding of how to learn, spot and teach all movements safely to athletes of any level. Gymnastics programming is also discussed. Course participants learn to apply gymnastics principles in training themselves and others to increase strength development, core control and spatial awareness – all of which improve CrossFit performance.

The Advanced Sports Performance Coach Course is the second course in the Coaching Education Program.This course is applicable for those coaches seeking advanced knowledge to better themselves and their athletes. It is a requirement for weightlifting coaches seeking to attain the National Coach Rating.All individuals who successfully complete the course requirements will receive the USA Weightlifting Advanced Sports Performance Coach Certificate. Advanced Sports Performance Coaches that successfully complete the background check and Athlete Performance requirements will receive the USA Weightlifting National Coach Rating.
